Mount Sinai and the Split Rock in Horeb
The True Mount Sinai
The Discovery
After finding chariot wheels in the Gulf of Aqaba, Ron Wyatt knew Mount Sinai had to be in Saudi Arabia. He tried
for several years unsuccessfully to get a visa to enter the country.
In December 1983 Ron and his two sons entered the country without permission to make a dash to an ancient
volcano that appeared to fit the Biblical narrative. The peak of Jebel el Lawz on it's rim seemed the
most likely candidate. After finding evidence supporting the site, the group was arrested and jailed.
An associate had called the Saudis and declared the Wyatts were Israeli spies masquerading as archaeologists.
This changed their status from illegal aliens to capital criminals. After 78 days of confirming their story and
being shown evidence the Saudis released them. The Wyatts returned and gave witness to their discoveries in an interview with Bill Kurtis on CBS
Morning News, April 17, 1984. Ron was invited back to the site in 1985 and so convinced the Saudis of the authenticity of the evidence
for the Hebrews encampments around the mount that they immediately fenced off the entire area as an archaeological
reserve.

Mount Sinai in Midian
Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh,
and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.
(Exodus 2:15 KJV)
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian:
and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
(Exodus 3:1 KJV)
"Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee:
When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain."
(Exodus 3:12 KJV)
And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness,
where he encamped at the mount of God:
(Exodus 18:5 KJV)
In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
(Exodus 19:1,2 KJV)
And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire:
and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
(Exodus 19:18 KJV)
And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount
in the eyes of the children of Israel.
(Exodus 24:17 KJV)
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai,
which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is,
and is in bondage with her children.
(Gal 4:24,25 KJV)
The Rock Split at Horeb
The Discovery
After years of frustration, reporting his findings on Mount Sinai being in Saudi Arabia with little photographic evidence,
Ron received a call through a series of incredible circumstances that would change everything. The call led Ron to a meeting with
a man bearing gifts. Video and photographic documentation suddenly became available. Jim and Penny Caldwell
had found and had access to follow a map by Ron to the area and investigate. Because of the dangerous situation this presented with their
being in Saudi on work visas, their names had to be witheld and their identities protected. However, they were eager to share their information with the world
on Mount Sinai and their discovery of the Split Rock at Horeb. Now their story can be told.

Split Rock in Horeb
And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin,
after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim:
and there was no water for the people to drink.
(Exodus 17:1 KJV)
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock,
and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight
of the elders of Israel.
(Exodus 17:6 KJV)
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother,
and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give
the congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together
before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote
the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
(Numbers 20:7-11 KJV)
